Josh Slocum
Host of Disaffected Podcast
Disordered Relationship Consultant
Josh Slocum is the host of Disaffected, a weekly TV-style show with three audio episodes each week. The show looks at relationships and culture through a psychological lens, with an emphasis on narcissistic and emotionally manipulative behaviors and personalities.
The show’s thesis in brief: We are living in a world that runs on Cluster B personality disorder rules.
Josh grew up in a household headed by a single mother with Borderline and Narcissistic personality disorders. These kinds of emotional disorders are common in abusive parents, spouses, and associates.
He has 20 years of experience in the nonprofit educational sector. This experience allows him to see how high-conflict people and broken relational styles play out in professional settings.
In 2016 he broke contact with his abusive mother and put the puzzle pieces together. There was a name for the type of personality who screamed at family members, re-wrote history, and accused her targets of abusing her while she exploited and terrorized her children. That name is Cluster B.
Josh believes that narcissistic and emotionally unstable people and behaviors have been normalized in society. There’s a way out of this turmoil, and it starts with seeing the world, the people around us, and ourselves, for who we really are.
